My Driving Test

Last week, on Friday at 11:45 I had a driving licence test. I was very nervous. Yesterday I prayed to god. "If I don't pass this time, I will give up on the licence. It was the fourth time. I was ashamed.

Next morning I prayed again. The inspector was not kind. With a deep baritone voice he said "right turn, left turn, reverse". I didn't really like it. I was still praying "help me god , help me god" to calm myself down. I was too thirsty, too. It looked like 24 hours.

At last we arrived at the R.T.A. The inspector said "park here and wait". I waited for 10 minutes. He came back and told me " You passed!" I didn't believe it. I asked him again and he repeated
"You passed! " I was surprised, excited and amazed. That day I couldn't sleep. I had peace. Thanks God.

gas

HelloBetty, Let me tell you what happened to me last week.
I have a problem with my gas stove. The control knob bloke while Iwas cooking .
I turned off gas at the meter. That meant I had no hot water or heating, whitch made the house cold. Because it was Saturday night the Estate agent was closed.
Irangthe landlord emergency number but he was out and I got the answering machine.
Then I had to call a plumber to fix my stove. So I could use the gas again.
The plumber came, repaired the stove, gas turned back on. He charged me $ 200.
I am going to take the $200bill the Estate agent on Monday.

They have four seasons. It is Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. In Summer, it is very hot and in Winter, itis very cold. Autume is very beautiful season. A many colourful leaves fall on the road. It's very gorgeous.

Over the years the Capital city has continued to grow as a political, economic, cultural and educational centre. Now Seoul is the world's 10th- largest city.

It's past and present live together. There are many Palaces, City gates, Shrines and Gardens. The old city was surrounded by four inner mountains and outter mountains in the North, East and WEst. There were originally inside the Castle walls of the ancient Capital.

Now there are a lot of high rise buildings, high apartments, huge buildings and departmentstores

In Seoul, the most visited attractions are the ancient royal Palaces and Shrines, the famous old Markets, Olympic citizen's Forest and Hangang River Trail.

So they are all enjoyed by residents and visitors.

I miss everything

My name is Francesca. I come from Korea. I have been in Soul for 60 years. These days I miss it very much. I remember that I used to go to middle high school by electric tram. I miss my friends Jun hae sun and Lee bong ho,too. I also miss my son , daughter-in-law, my grandson, my sisters and my brothers. I used to go to a department store with my second sister almost every day. When I studied pipe organ I practised three hours a day in the church. I accompanied every mass with the organ. I studied for 5 years, so I played with my feet very well. Playing the organ is very different to playing the piano. Our church has one thousands parishioners. We always had two funerals a week. Sometimes we had one every day.

At the time my husband passed away, I was very very sad and heart broken. I was wearing only black clothes. I didn't meet anybody and I didn't go anywhere.I stopped playing completely, so I lost my skill. Finally I realised if people are dead, they have mouths, but cannot speak, and eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear and noses, but cannot smell. They have hands, but cannot feel, and feet, but cannot walk. They cannot make a sound. These days I miss my late mother, my late father and my late husband. I regret I am well and alive. But I have decided I will live more generously, more helping other people, and with goodness. I will thank GOD for all. God bless me.

my excursion 1

I went to Taronga Zoo with my friend and her husband on the weekend. This was a very wonderful excursion. In the morning at 9.am we took the train to Town Hall. Then we walked to Circular Quay and transferred to the ferry.

At 10.30am we arrived at Taronga Zoo. The entry fee was quite expensive. It cost me $40. But it was really worthy to go there, because we could see various animals. There are elephants, giraffes, kangaroos, koalas, dingos, gorillas & frogs. chimpanzees, wombats and red pandas. I like giraffes very much. They are so gentle and the people can feed them. It was a lot of fun.

We enjoyed our picnic lunch. After that we went back to the Botanic Gardens and we walked along the shore. It was very nice weather to walk under the sunshine. Then we sat down on the grass and had a friendly talk. Around 5.30pm we caught a train back home. We enjoyed the great day. I hope I can have another excursion like this one day.

Letter to a friend

Dear Hae sun ,

Sorry I haven't got in touch with you for a long time. How are your husband, your daughter and your grand-daughter who lives in Canada? When I used to teach piano to her, she didn't play much, so I blamed her, but I miss her. Now she has grown up a lot and she speaks English very well.

I must tell you something very serious now. Last week on Tuesday early in the morning at 6am, suddenly my husband got a heart-attack and he was rushed by ambulance to the public hospital where he is spending 5 days. May be he will be operated tomorrow. You know I had never been absent from primary school to the university. I was worried about missing TAFE classes, but what can I do? Any way, good news, my sisters will visit me in Autumn (may be in November?) I 'm excited now. So I bought a bed, extra sofa and blankets. I hope everything has settle down by then. Why don't you come with your husband and stay? I really miss you. And then I have installed a computer. Send me your email-address as soon as possible!
See you soon (I hope!)
Lots of kisses
Francesca

Korean Women's Clothing

Chogori and Chima

Chogori and Chima are traditional Korean clothes for females.

Chogori clothes have changed over time more than those for males. The earliest versions went all the way to the hips and were tied at the waist. By the late Chosun Dynasty (1392-1910), they only went as far as the arm pits, with a longer front panel to cover the breasts.

The chima is a rectangular or tubular skirt with a high, pleated waistband. It is tied above the breasts with long sashes. By flowing over the rest of the body, it completely hides the female shape, strongly influenced by the Confucian society.

Fabrics

Because of the diverse weather conditions, clothes can be made from hemp, ramie, cotton muslin, silk and satin.
Colours
White represents purity, integrity, and chastity, and was the most common colour for common clothes. The upper class and court figures wore clothes in red, yellow, blue, and black in addition to white.

My excursion

Hi Rosa

I'm going to go to La Perouse with my husband on holiday for fish and chips and I'm going to the Botanic Gardens. Before I go there I felt very excited because I'll go walking along the beautiful beach and sit down on the grass under the sunshine with my husband talking friendly.

I'll go to a lot of restaurants with my husband to have delicious lunches. Because I haven't had time to do it for a while. So I really hope I have a great break. It 'll be very beautiful holiday.

MY OPINION

Every year we celebrate Harmony Day. That's great. But we shouldn't just celebrate. We should be tolerant and respect each other. Also we should make a compromise and reconcile with each other. Jesus said; Love your neibours. So we all live together without any racism or discrimination and have to love our neibours. We understand other's religions and cultures. We unite all various groups of people. So let's make Australia a paradise for all people to live in harmony.

The Stolen Generation

My opinion is that saying '' I 'm sorry'' is only words that without love and truthfulness don 't mean anything.

Aboriginal people used to live here . They are equal to all Australians. The government has to respect their culture and their customs and their rights. The government has to give them the same opportunities. All Australians have to live together but the colour of their skins shape is very different. We are all made from God. God loves us all the same and Blesses us.

Member of the Stolen Generations say that if the Government admits that the policies were wrong and then says sorry, it would help them deal with the trauma and suffering that they have experienced.
